Welcome to my blog! This is my first official post!!

For a long time, I've written about my lived experiences and shared them on social media. Typically they get lots of positive feedback with comments that I should write a book or a blog. I may write a book. But for now, I'll try a blog.

Let me set the record straight: I don't know what I'm doing and I don't plan on asking for help, just yet. It's 100% brand new to me but I really want to give it a shot. Don't expect a writing expert here, because you'll be disappointed if you do. In photography, I'm a point and shoot kinda girl. In writing, I'm a write, take a quick look to make sure I've made no glaring spelling errors then publish kinda girl. Let's hope for the best and see what happens!

As I'm sitting here figuring out my first topic, my brain is swirling with tons of things I could pick to write about. Like most anyone of my age, I have tales to tell. But instead of a tale, I think I'll give you a brief overview of who, what, where, why and when. Here we go:

Who: Me! I'm Robin. I've been married for a long time. A long, long time. I have stories. I'm also a mom of 3 boys. OK, 2 of them are well into adulthood, but they are my boys forever and always. My first born is a married man, with his own home and embarking on his new career. My former youngest is in the hospitality industry, can make friends with anyone near him and is big into working on his fitness. Frankly, I see his 8 pack and wonder if he's actually biologically mine. But I digress. My youngest came along when his brothers were 17 & 15. I was 41. It was the surprise of a lifetime! See? I have lots to talk about! I mom so hard that every single milestone any of my babies hit makes me incredibly proud and also feels like a gut punch. Because, at the end of the day, our job as parents is to create well-adjusted, self-sufficient humans to unleash upon the world. And every step of the way, for the past 29 years, has been a joyful, painful experience. We'll talk.

What: That's tricky. Sometimes I write about an interaction at the grocery store, the roadway, my youngest's hockey games or walking in the woods. I grew up with a semi-famous dad with music having center stage (pun intended) for my entire childhood, into adulthood. I have a sister whose name is a day of the week. I was bar-hopping at 16. I've been loved and hated (which I will NEVER quite understand, seeing as I am pretty damn amazing). What always comes with those stories is my point of view, which you may or may not agree with, and my humor. It's sorta silly, slightly warped but ever-present. I'm also sky-obsessed. You'll be seeing lots of my sky/nature photos.

Where: Right here at Writing Robin. Picking out a name for a blog that isn't already in use is a drag. This was a suggested name and frankly, I'm too tired to fight it. Writing Robin about sums it up.

Why: Honestly-why not? I have things to write about. I'll be doing this whether I have no one reading what I write or I have 25. I'll just be over here saying things.

When: I'm hoping to do this at least once a week. Maybe more. Maybe less. Have you guessed that I may be slightly non-committal? Except for marriage. Did I mention a LONG time?

Anyway, thanks for reading this far. I will happily accept topics if you'd like to suggest something.
